Shopping for items online, and having them shipped to your home has become a pretty common occurrence. This is great because people are more comfortable doing business online, even for large items like flooring.
Yes we are going to ship large amounts of flooring to you, but the large nature of these items have to be handled a little diffferntly than what you might be used to. Factors like weight, distance, and recieving equiptment (think loading docks and forklifts) all have to be accounted for.
Fortunately for you, we have done most of the leg work already to make it as easy for you as possible.
First, we know that flooring is a large purchase both physically and economically, and we take that fact very seriously. All of our flooring takes time to prepare. We have a process where everything is checked, tested, documented, and packed with the utmost care. We know how frustrating it is to receive something that is damaged, and we take every effort on our end to ensure that does not happen. We take enormous pride in our products and our process, and since your floor is going to be a part of your home for a very long time, it’s not the sort of thing you want to rush.
Be sure to let us know when you place your order if there is something we should know about your delivery situation, like if access is difficult for larger vehicles. Once your delivery date is confirmed, we will notify you when your order ships. Within a day or so of your delivery date, you will get a call from a logistics concierge that will finalize your delivery time. You will need to be there to receive delivery - another reason we try to make sure you have ample notice if arrangements need to be made.
Second, what we are shipping is very large and heavy, that means special trucks are required for transportation. Usually these trucks are designed to deliver from one shipping dock to another and are very difficult to unload in a residential setting. Other online flooring stores leave that difficult part up to you, because solving that problem was either too challenging, or expensive to bother.
We knew that wasn’t going to work for you, so all of our deliveries include a lift gate service, meaning the flooring is lifted off the truck and placed on the ground for you. This service costs nothing extra to you, and is all included in the square footage price of the flooring.
The delivery driver is obligated to unload the truck at the end of your driveway, however if it is possible to park the truck closer to your house, he/she will. Keep in mind that is going above and beyond, and will be at the driver’s discretion exclusively.
Finally, due to liability reasons, the delivery driver is not able to move any of the product once it has been unloaded, so chances are you will need to have help getting your flooring inside your house. Your installer, movers, or strong friends are all viable options here.
